The Style Dossier :: Edgar Allen Poe Party

With Halloween coming up, everyone is in the mood for a good scare. So why not combine the two and host an amazing Halloween Party with a more mature style?

Hang this skeleton key from the front door as a preface to guests that this won’t be any ordinary Halloween party. Black matte pumpkins replace the traditional orange pumpkins on the front porch. Surround these with silver gourds in piles of hay or get brave and place skulls with them in an eerie arrangement.

Allow guests to dine with the (almost) dead by creating a table they won’t forget and then serving their meal with these hideously beautiful serving pieces. These pieces will create the perfect backdrop to Pumpkin + Sage Ravioli or Spaghetti Squash with Chard + Ricotta Cream.

To keep your guests in the spooked spirit, serve up an Apple Cider Margarita : 1 ounce Grand Marnier 1 ounce gold tequila 5-6 ounces sweet apple cider orange segments and apple slices cinnamon + cane sugar + coarse sugar for glass rimming cinnamon sticks for garnish and Spook Ale.

Halloween parties don’t have to look like the neighborhood kids could come running through the door at any minute. Don’t be afraid to ditch the witches and the bats for a more sophisticated scare.
